New Balance has a new shoe, it’s called the Fuel Cell. The Fuel Cell is all about speed without sacrificing cushioning. Taking over where the Vazee 2090 left off the fuel cell uses a brand new cushioning system developed after countless hours of research.
By combining REVlite material with a new nitrogen infused TPU in the midsole, the Fuel Cell provides a very responsive ride while saving the body the pounding that traditional “speed” shoes often give. The REVlite in the heel is recessed which brings the foot closer to the fuel cell cushioning during impact, whereas the forefoot is actually cored out to give direct contact between the foot and the fuel cell. This results in a very cushioned ride for heel strikers but a very responsive, springy ride during toe off.
The outsole is made from solid rubber and the data driven shape allows the foot to move more efficiently through the foot path.
The upper was inspired by origami shapes and allows tightening of the shoe without lace bite or pinching the nerves on the top of the foot. During movement the origami shapes on the medial and lateral side of the upper provide dynamic support without sacrificing comfort.
The Fuel Cell is landing in The Tech Shop’s this week. Drop by and check it out!
